Entry / Exit Requirements for Foreign Students
All foreign students should obtain a Student
Visa or its equivalent. It is recommendable to
start this process as soon as admission has been
granted. If you do not get a visa in your
country, it is possible to obtain a Tourist Card
once you arrive at a Dominican port of entry.
This Card allows you to stay legally in the
Dominican Republic for 90 days. After this
period, you must keep renewing it or pay a fine
at the airport when you depart the country.
Living in the Dominican Republic without
processing the Student Visa is considered
illegal and sanctions may be determined by
Dominican authorities.
Tourist Cards expire each time you leave the
country and must buy a new one upon reentry.
It is recommendable that students contact the
closest Dominican Consulate to obtain travel and
visa information for your country of residence.
